News About UNC from John Bradberry of Charlotte, NC
Stay up to date with the latest news about the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with me, John Bradberry. I’m from Charlotte, NC and have lived there ever since I was born. UNC has always been my dream school and now that I’m here, I wish to keep a blog about my university that will help provide others the information they’re looking for.
Whether you’re looking to read sports news or about the latest developments happening at UNC, you’ve come to the right place. As the nation’s first public university, UNC has plenty of activities going on at any point in time in campus; from research initiatives in the field of medicine to community events to celebrate public holidays. Given that there’s always something going on at Chapel Hill, this also means having more opportunities to serve others, which you can learn more about here.
Currently, UNC offers 77 bachelor’s, 110 master’s, 64 doctorate, and seven professional degree programs through 14 schools and the College of Arts and Sciences. There are more than 317,000 alumni as well who have their roots in Carolina and as a Tar Heel, I felt that it was about time that there was a place on the Internet that a Tar Heel could go to get news and information about the campus and its community.
Recently, UNC was crowned again, for the 16th time now, by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance for being the nation’s best value in American public higher education. Kiplinger’s Personal Finance ranked UNC as the No. 1 public college for best in-state and best out-of-state value, which only bolsters my pride as a Tar Heel even more! In the same rankings, UNC is joined by other prestigious colleges like the universities of Virginia and California at Berkeley, as well as Swarthmore College, Davidson College, and Princeton University.
Now in its third century, UNC continues to be a top choice among high school students for keeping a high standard of education while being affordable at the same time. For every 100 applicants, only 27 are admitted into UNC, making the admission process one of the most selective. UNC is renowned for its innovative teaching, research, and public service record, having two Nobel laureates under its belt.
To read more about the Tar Heels men’s basketball team, head on over to my blog page where I extensively cover our boys’ journey to another NCAA Championship. There I review the games, break down play by plays, and discuss our chances of having another season sweep. As a Tar Heel fan, it’s a lot of fun and one of the best ways I can show my support. Feel free to join me! Basketball isn’t the only sport I plan to cover there as I’m also interested in following the news about Carolina players being drafted to professional leagues like the NBA and NFL.
In case you forget, this is John Bradberry of Charlotte, NC. Thank you for visiting my website and I hope to see you here again soon!
